Cosmetic surgery has boomed over the last decade and owing to celebrities and social media the newer generations are being transparent and upfront about their enhancements.
But then, COVID struck and the industry took a severe hit. However, the plastic surgery industry is now in full swing, all thanks to what the experts call the “Zoom effect” or the “Zoom Boom.” The pandemic replaced in-person meetings and social events with video calls, causing people to be hyper-critical of their facial features. This dissatisfaction led to a much higher fascination in surgeries above the shoulders.
A large number of patients are motivated by the spare time spent at home. An increase in the work-from-home culture allows patients to fully recover at home without using their paid time off.
Increasing number of people are getting procedures done on features that are covered by masks. Surgeons are reporting an increase in patients getting enhancements above the nose since those features are highlighted whilst wearing a mask.
Another determining factor is finances, as a number of hopeful suitors saved up a significant amount of money during lockdown restrictions to afford their dream procedure.
With cosmetic treatments becoming more sophisticated, more convenient and less taboo, its safe to say that the Covid-19 boom is just the beginning.
